Edgewater Hotel - Gatlinburg

"The pictures on Expedia are deceiving. First, you have to walk past the toilet to shut the bathroom door. That’s how small the bathroom is. The tile grout was gross. The bathroom sink is like a pressure washer. Spots on the sliding glass cornice, plugs didn’t work, the bedside lights did not work. The glass elevator was hard to see out of. Probably hasn’t been cleaned since it had its grand opening. One bed had a wad of hair in it. People coming in and out all hours into the night slamming doors and being loud in the hallway. I had to contact the front desk which stopped it briefly but not until they had already woken the sick baby in our room. Complete disrespect for others in the hotel and the staff didn’t really seem to care. I do not recommend this place. I wouldn’t stay there for free."

"We arrived on time so we wouldn't have to pay the extra money for being early and our rooms weren't ready. Said 30 minutes but was like 1hr and half. Had to screaming kids due to heat. They did give us our bracelets and told us after 45 minutes to go change and hang out at the pool which helped cool us down. The property itself is great. We have a great time otherwise."

"There was mold in the bathroom, the elevators were dirty, there was never any luggage carts(i think they only had 4 total). the sink leaked, the faucet handle didn't work as far as changing the temperature, it burned my child. The breakfast being “catered” by the buffet next door was an absolute joke. I have never experienced a worse breakfast. They had zero opinions, i thought they would at least have cereal or something. The eggs looked like it was sat in a liquid, the biscuits were hard. The mattresses themselves were not comfortable. The top blanket looked very old and dingy. Almost like they have been using them for 15+ years. Also, the staff was incredibly nice. Even if they don't do the room cleaning during your stay the woman that was cleaning stopped by my room and knocked to make sure we had towels. She was incredibly nice! The front desk when i checked in was also very nice and very quick. I overall did not enjoy my stay and it felt like the only amenity was the indoor pool (even though it wasn’t very clean either) and the rest of it wasn’t even the full truth. We will not be returning and we will be warning others."

"Hotel was in a good location and the staff were nice but that’s all. Breakfast was poor, barely having any options. Elevator was broke down the entire stay, and we had to wait roughly 12 hours for new towels. Little things that need improved."

"The room was clean but dated. The bed was very comfortable. The outside grounds we're well maintained and clean. There were three pools that were very clean and in excellent condition. Breakfast was delicious and all areas in the breakfast room were constanly being cleaned and restocked. This was a very enjoyable stay."

"We stayed at Wilderness at the Smokies – River Lodge Suites last weekend and had a great experience. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the resort had plenty of fun activities for the whole family. We had no issues during our stay, and everything went smoothly. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others looking for a fun family getaway! 😊"

"The stay was great, the pool was cool, there were bears so be careful, but they are cute. The rooms are definitely a little older, but still a great stay overall."
