"For an older property, you will expect some flaws and these are generally minor overall. The entrance, stairs and communal areas are well presented, were clean and smelled clean. The room we were in (203) was in a good condition overall, but was showing its age in some places. The windows are painted closed, but are single glazed, so transmit all outside noise. The curtains do not fully block out of the exterior hotel lights (which are on all the time from what I could see) The rail in the wardrobe was on the floor of the wardrobe as an ironing board and desk fan had been stored in there. The bedding was clean, but there were blood stains on the actual pillow itself. A great hotel for its location and price point however. Have stayed here previously and would stay again. "

"We had a fantastic stay loved the character of the building and it’s history, when we checked in our initial room was ready and we were given an alternative but upon entering we found the room to be smaller than we expected (I have 2 children with autism and ADHD) so I went back down to reception and explain trying to avoid incoming meltdown, the hotel staff couldn’t be more accommodating and provided us with a larger room right next door to the one previously given, crisis averted!! We had a fantastic stay highly recommended and will definitely be back and next time definitely longer "

"We stayed in a very nice cottage next to the Mayfield. It was very clean and modern looking in the bathrooms. There are very large beds in both rooms , each having a bathroom, very convenient. The distance from Scarborough is about 10 minutes drive right to the seafront. The reception staff are efficient and curteous. Lots of parking out front too. "

"The room was lovely,the staff were brilliant and chef was so accommodating for my allergies and very keen to ensure correct measures were made. Food and pudding were amazing! Family room was big, one single bed very springy however. Breakfast was ok but not the best selection. Eggs were made to order but wasnt asked about my allergies on this order just that he would ask the chef to make fresh. Staff all very friendly. Walls were a little think so could hear a dog barking all night and next door snoring. But 100% stay here again. Lovely setting. Fab menu. Lovely cosey bar. "

"Quality modern accommodation. We rebooked a second night as we enjoyed it so much. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a lovely pub next door (part of the hotel) which has a great atmosphere, serves lovely food, drinks and even has a soft play area. There is a park opposite the accommodation and a supermarket 50rds on the same road. We will definitely be booking again. Thankyou for looking after us 😊 ! "

"Great location, the room I was given was excellent and had all amenities necessary, The Staff were really helpful and friendly and made you feel at ease at all times😁 The Food was incredible, a really high quality and very tasty 😋😋 I would be eating there very regularly if I didn't live so far away, Thank you 👍👍"

"This place is perfect for a chilled out couples getaway. Aptly named The Hygge Out, it really emboidies all that is Hygge; from the clean asthetics and peaceful location to the 'back to basics' concept, albiet luxurious with the stove and hot tub being wood fired! The owners were downright lovely. Communication beforehand was great. They gave clear instructions for how to find the location and of any extras we might be interested in. Upon arrival there were concise instructions for use of the stove, hot tub and big green egg as well as notes about the onsite shop and checkout procedure. The pod itself was cosy and nicely furnished with everything you'd need for a short stay. The bed was comfortable, and everything was clean, including the hottub and patio. Being in the middle of nowhere, or so it felt, really gave us the opportunity to completely unwind and enjoy each others company. We will 100% visit again, thank you for a lovely stay."
