"I traveled alone with my two sons, aged 9 and 7. This hotel is very family-friendly and perfect for staying with children. I really liked that the room had a combination of one king bed and two single beds, and the mattress was in excellent condition, which made our stay very comfortable. The room interior was clean, and the design was simple and modern. However, the sink was quite shallow, so we had to be careful to turn the water on gently to avoid splashing. One difficulty for me was that the door could be opened easily from the inside by a child. I wish there had been an additional safety lock to prevent it from opening. The indoor swimming pool and hot tub were great, and I especially appreciated the long hours during which children are allowed to swim. It was also very convenient to have a pub and a Starbucks on the ground floor. Also, it was very convenient that there were plenty of electric vehicle charging stations in the car park. Although it is rated as a 3.5-star hotel, my experience felt far beyond that. I would definitely stay here again next time."

"The Bear of Burton - very nice country style pub and hotel. With a large car park at the rear. Staff - very friendly and helpful. Rooms - very well presented, clean and and tidy. Lots of rooms within hotel. Evening meal - good selection on menu, quick service and fairly priced. Bed - very comfortable, great nights sleep. Breakfast - a decent selection of cold buffet style food (Cerals, Yogurts, Fruit, Pastries, juice, & hot drinks), along with another good selection of cooked food options. Overall - very nice, more than happy to visit again."

"Excellent from check in and having my bag carried upstairs to my room, and check out after an excellent breakfast. The hotel is within walking distance to the beach with fab views. 4 minute walk to co op for room snacks. The menu was great and "

"Lovely quiet location, comfy room and great food. Bar staff very helpful. Building works going on at the hotel and next door so we were disturbed in the morning by lorries but this is not the fault of the hotel"

"Great place to stay in heart of Christchurch, overlooking the cathedral. The renovations are beautiful, giving a relaxing, arty vibe in which to relax, with a high standard of decor. Staff are fantastic, very friendly whilst professional, and made all guests feel really welcome. Great welcome on arrival, friendly, pleasant and helpful. All seemed to enjoy working there! It could do with some sofas/easy chairs for guests to relax in apart from the bar, ‘cafe’, or restaurant areas, but this didn’t spoil our stay as no one hurried us out of either. Maybe some low coffee tables in place of some of the cafe tables? Will definitely be staying again, such fantastic service from all staff in a lovely, welcoming environment."
