"Perfect stay."

"The staff were helpful and friendly on first arriving - the room was clean and suitable - the bar staff were friendly - We ate the Carvery on Sundsy which was lovely and we also had breakfast in the morning which was also lovely - make sure to book for evening meal as its very popular "

"Good hotel and was perfect location for us with a 4 year old for the night. Hotel rooms are a little dated but all good, however, our bathroom toilet had a terrible public urine smell to it. We had already put the little one to sleep so we shut the door and didn’t mention it until before breakfast but was told on reception that you have to email to let a duty manager know… hopefully they read the email as still awaiting a response so I imagine they could be getting more complaints until they follow up our email which seems a strange way of dealing with the issue."

"Lovely room, great location - short walk to the seafront. Easy to park just for an overnight stay. The only issue was the water pipes making a lot of noise for a short while while i was trying to get to sleep."

"Our booking was cancelled two days before our holiday was to start. No communication from the owner, just an email from Sykes. Sykes were very helpful but unsuccessful in trying to book an alternative property at such short notice. We lost two days of our holiday. I would highly recommended that this property is avoided and dropped from your listings."

"The Old Colonial Hotel is conveniently sited next to the arch giving access to the promenade for the Grand Pier and Knightstone beach. Also within walking distance to town. The hotel itself could do with a bit of decoration in the bar, the bedroom was not too bad. There are a few flights of stairs to negotiate to get to the bedrooms, which was a bit of a struggle as my wife is disabled. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over, which is not a problem (unless you are disabled). A walk in shower could be useful. The bedroom was a nice size and a quite comfortable bed with views of the sea and pier. The staff were warm and friendly. It was nice to see the open mike evening for a bit of a sing song. Overall we had a nice couple of nights stay, but I would just mention, if you are disabled, beware there are a few stairs to negotiate."
