"Excellent choice for breakfast. The setting and location is wonderful - sitting round the pool, looking towards the sea. Right next to the cute small town with some lovely restaurants. Hotel of a good standard with equally nice comfy rooms. Would have given a 5 out of 5 apart from on occasion, not enough staff on at the bar pool area in the day sometimes and some of the sunbeds are past their best. Would definitely stay here again."

"The hotel is conveniently located in the old town area of Funchal. This is close to many restaurants, near the marina (where all the tour boats go from), near public transport, taxi’s and quick Bolt pick ups, and also where the cable car goes up to Monte. The hotel itself was very nice, good rooms and staff were very helpful. We did have an issue with the drains (producing an awful smell) in our original room and after a little bit of discussion we were given a new room for the trip. Breakfast was very good."

We are from the United States, and you can expect prices as much as New York City and Los Angeles for food and drinks. The staff was mostly friendly but not over-the-top accommodating. Morning staff at breakfast seemed irritable, and the front desk was hit or miss with friendliness"
