"I had booked two rooms, both with a king sized bed. My in-laws room had a king sized bed; however, our room had a double. I immediately went back to the desk and showed my reservation and was told that, "In Europe, king sized beds are smaller. Your room has a king sized bed"... Now, this may not seem like a big deal, but when you're husband is a very active sleeper and you are both tall, a double bed is not at all how you want to spend your dream vacation nights. I take issue with first the gas-lighting and second with the lack of effort by the staff to even attempt to get us into the type of room we prepaid for. That said, the staff in the restaurant were beyond amazing and the food was very tasty. We loved Galway - with the exception of this room. Every other room we had on our trip across Ireland was exactly as advertised and pictured - The Hyde and their front desk staff was the only poor exception."

"This hotel is adorable and is in a perfect location, right in Eyre Square and right around the corner from Shop Street and all the things you want to do. It's also walking distance to the train station. BUT that being said, noise can be an issue. There is a great bar downstairs that has amazing musicians that play late into the evening. The front desk was SO kind and quickly moved us to a quieter room on the 2nd floor. Just keep in mind that if you're not a night owl, ask for a room on the 2nd floor. The hotel itself is so comfortable, spacious rooms, very clean. It was a lovely stay!"
