"Casa do Governador is a most pleasant small (7 rooms) agro-tourism hotel located in the countryside of the Alentejo Province. Manual and his staff are helpful and friendly. The surrounding landscape is gorgeous, especially the pool area and the various outside lounges near the main house. Having a car is a must to stay. The town of Evora is at a 12 to 15 minutes drive. It’s a midsize town full of history. Worth visiting with a guide."

"A great place to unwind after hectic days of sightseeing with superb views and surrounded by nature. A walk down the lake followed by an excellent dinner in the restaurant was just the ticket. Whilst the commitment to zero waste was commendable the concept of ordering dinner a day in advance was a little inconvenient and might cause guests to miss the excellent food in the restaurant. "Beautiful pastoral setting. Guest room was comfortable with great bed. Wonderful decor in the breakfast room upstairs, and the food was great. Hosts were very engaging, sharing info on the neighborhood and the Roman wine-making process, which is their award-winning specialty. Nearby winery restaurant Quinta da Quetzal was amazing!"
