"We had a really pleasant stay here for the night while visiting local attractions. The room was very clean, quiet and well-maintained. Some areas were in the need of updating but still good. We had the dinner, bed and breakfast deal, and everything was delicious. Good value for money, staff that were friendly and welcoming, and plenty of parking available."

"Grace was awesome. Rest of staff a little standoffish and less capable. Room is a little tired with old bedding, lack of sockets (especially near the mirror) and we had a room with a large slope inside the bathroom door which was not very safe so we had to use the non-slip bath mat to safely navigate from room to bathroom. New owners need to spend a few pounds on refreshing the hotel now. Also we booked breakfast and was told that they had stopped serving it under the new owners during the week so we paid for it but had to go out and find elsewhere. "

"Owners were nice, helpful and friendly. They cooked a very good poached egg. Room was spacious with own private bathroom. Was cold when we arrived but was able to sort heating and it heated up quickly. One little problem, the toilet seat was broken."

"Parking was available. Friendly welcome. Breakfast OK but sadly no bacon (a simple fix surely?). Room clean and comfortable. "

"It was in such a great location! We loved the pub was downstairs and served such great food and drinks! It was nice to walk upstairs and not have to worry about driving. Free parking was nice. Breakfast was just cereal, cold croissant, and a banana but at least it was free. The room was cute but the ceiling was pretty low. My boyfriend had to duck a lot and couldn’t stand in the shower but he is 6’6”. The bath tube was really nice and relaxing! Staff was great as well and helpful! The room was slightly slanted but it served it purpose which a place to sleep. We did find a door in our room that we couldn’t lock which led to a weird hallway. We wish that door was locked but we pushed the chair up against it and no one bother us so we felt safe. "

"Good hotel and comfortable bed. Had cancel the second night as the hotel was closed. Access for an 81 year old was very difficult. Lots of stairs to manage. The very cold weather made it even more difficult. The manager was very good and helpful. We hope to get a refund for the second night. The location was excellent and the pub was very quirky and quite special. "

"Dilapidated "For Sale" sign outside was indicative of the general state. Friendly receptionist showed us to room which was reasonable. Fridge missing. TV produced only "No signal" and receptionist could not make it work so spent an hour sorting another room to which we moved. This had the promised fridge and working TV. Badly stained furniture (photo) and traces of mould on shower curtain. Blocked bath/shower drain very slow to clear. Actual shower worked excellently, good flow and stable temperature - best thing about the place! Towels and bedding appeared clean. Bar deserted, real ale not available. Restaurant deserted, looked abandoned and although a menu was in evidence it is unclear whether the kitchen was working. Fortunately great food and drink were available at other establishments within easy walking distance in Forest Row.. Exterior all in need of a proper clean. All in all a poor choice based on website, will not be returning."
