"Hotel is fully renovated, food and amenities are great. However don’t be fulled by the website description. I originally booked a suite with 2 double beds and sofa bed as per Princess room description. We are a family of 4 with 4 y.o and 15 y.o. Upon arrival our room turned to have only 2 double beds and sofa (which turned to be just a sofa not sofa bed, absolutely useless in room setup). It is crazy for someone to think that 4 ppl can fit in there. We were offered to upgrade to platinum suite with 2 double beds, sofa bed, and have been told it is the only room setup possible for our family. I had to pay additional USD $1200 which is 50% more of what I already have paid when booked. This felt as a complete scam and absolutely ruined our experience with hotel. You get a fancier food and drinks with “platinum”, but it did not really matter for my kids who are mostly eating fries and burgers. All we wanted was another bed and basically were forced to pay for the services we did not want/need."

"The hotel is ok, but it is being remodeled and lots of area are closed. Staff is not always friendly and in the buffets, bell boys and drivers (Bernabe) who drive the trains are sometimes rude and will ignore those from Latin America or Mexico. There are exceptions like Russel in the Vaqueria who was exceptional, especially with our children. Th resort has lots of pools which makes it like there are not a lot of people which is good. Consider there is hardly any shade and people reserve them very early. In general it is ok, but definitely the lack of friendly staff is off putting. Not sure if we would come back, maybe when all of it is open. "

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! The resort was beautiful, clean, and incredibly well maintained. The staff went above and beyond to make every part of the trip enjoyable. A special shoutout to Ariz, our butler who had gone above and beyond throughout our stay accommodating our requests, scheduling and even down to the room making it an intimate special vacation for me and my partner. Santiago had welcomed us into Route 66 and made us feel like we had known eachother as long term friends. Manuel at the steakhouse made our last night enjoyable and ensured our experience was top notch! The food exceeded expectations with lots of variety, fresh options, and great restaurants to choose from. Drinks were consistently good, and service around the pool and beach was excellent. Rooms were spacious, comfortable, and cleaned thoroughly every day. There was always something to do whether you wanted entertainment, excursions, relaxing by the pool, or even enjoying the suite itself. Overall, this was the perfect balance of fun and relaxation, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a stress-free vacation. Already planning a return trip!"

"Great food!! Attentive Staff. Clean Room and Bath. But the overwhelming problem is- the whole place is falling apart! Paint pealing is the least problem, the BIGGEST and MOST DANGEROUS is The SAFETY RAILINGS to PROTCT ONE FROM FALLING TO GREAT INJURY OR DEATH, are ALL LOOSE!! With RUSTED SCREWS CORRODING and NAILS MISSING AND WOOD SPLINTERING TO THE POINT THE SAFETY RAILS SWAY AT LEAST 3 INCHES BACK n FORTH!!!! What?? So if ANY one, especially a HEAVY KARGE MAN or Someone whos Hd TOO MUCH TO DRINK should LEAN ON IT, THE WEAK RAILING WILL GIVE WAY!!!!! We we AMAZED at THIS i incredible SAFTY ISSUE!"

"We stayed at this property about six years ago and it was lovely. It has declined since that time. The service at the buffet is extremely poor. Good luck getting a refill on some water or coffee. The buffet food is average. While the hotel advertises that it has four restaurants, during our stay, only two were open each night. One of them was terrible and the others were average. The service in the restaurant is better than the service in the buffet. The bartenders at the pole bar in the quiet pool were excellent and did a great job and the drinks were delicious. The overall maintenance of the property is very poor. There are many broken loungers at the pool, and they do not clean the chairs and tables each night after the pool closes. Further, there are several areas where there should be reflecting pools, but they are empty, so instead of beautiful surroundings, it looks terrible with plumbing exposed. Also when we were visiting (early May) the beach is unusable due to seaweed in both the water and the beach, which also results in a terrible smell. "

"My wife and I travel as a hobby... and we travel in luxury. The Rosewood Mayakoba is the most luxurious experience we have had. The spa is perhaps the best on earth, the interior mangroves and boat rides to restaurants is such a cool experience. The rooms are literally on top of the water, private pools, AMAZING service... truly an experience that I hated to end!"
