"Excellent location for a stay in Edinburgh as the tram directly into the city is a few minutes' walk away. The hotel staff were excellent (James looked after us well) and the breakfast was plentiful and well-organised. "

"Excellent breakfast - but what made our stay special were the incredible staff.
Have suggested that with a name like Malmaison there should be more roses in evidence."

"24 Royal Terrace is a gorgeous, unique hotel with an extensive art collection. It is a small boutique lodging with a family atmosphere, and the staff is always ready to help. Breakfast was one of the best we have ever had. When we were leaving, it was like parting with family."

"Lovely hotel, in a terrific spot in Edinburgh. Tons of shopping and restaurants on the doorstep. Staff were very courteous and super friendly.
Rooms very nice, definitely a weird layout..regarding the bathroom area.
Loved the fact that they had valet parking which is very rare in Edinburgh
Would definitely recommend this hotel. "

"This is a cute property with excellent staff. The price is very reasonable for being in the downtown area of the city. For being on a busy road right by the bus station, it wa surprisingly quiet. Easy access to shopping and dining options and within walking distance to Edinburgh castle. 10/10 I would gladly stay there again. "

"Perfect hotel for our first few nights in Edinburgh. The location was amazing. Our room was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend and would stay again."
"Our room was not perfect (no phone and TV did not work), but management was fantastic and made everything right. Pool and sauna were a great addition and very clean. Room was quiet and great for sleeping. "
"Clean room, very high but comfortable bed. Just the right spot for a quiet night or two in a decently central location. Easy check in and out. Would recommend!"
"I had the pleasure of staying at the Fingal Hotel and it was truly an unforgettable experience. I booked this for my husbands birthday. From the moment we stepped aboard, the attention to detail was evident.
The staff were exceptional — friendly, welcoming, and incredibly attentive without being overbearing. They made sure that every aspect of our stay was perfect, offering recommendations for local sights and even helping us arrange some special requests.
Overall, Fingal Hotel offers an unforgettable experience that blends history, luxury, and amazing hospitality. Whether you're a local or a visitor, it's a perfect spot for a special occasion or a romantic getaway. I highly recommend staying here and will certainly be returning in the future!
