Unusual setting within the Edinburgh university grounds Strange that the restaurant is just for breakfast Bar setup also strange, honesty bar isn’t as such and closes at 10pm😕

Property is a heritage one with a unique look and feel. Situated inside the university campus it has an invigorating atmosphere. It is conveniently located. Service is great and with a smile. The dining options could be a little better but that’s a minor squabble.

EV charging - we chose the hotel for this reason but on arrival there were non-ev’s parked in the ev charging bays and stayed there. We had to submit our registration at reception so I’m unsure as to why it was still there the next morning when they could quickly identify who the vehicle belonged to. The other ev chargers available were very slow and as we had driven there from Skye we would need a full charge to get us on our way the next day. However, you could only use them for a max of 4 hours which would only give us about 50-60 miles worth of power. If you stayed over 4 hours there was a £30 penalty. Who on earth puts there car on charge and has to return to the hotel midway through a day/night out just to move the car when it has barely charged. When we spoke to the hotel about it, the staff said they couldn’t do anything about it and were less than helpful. We would not have chosen this hotel if we knew this in advance. Poor showing for an otherwise ok hotel. Room and bed comfy Shower great Breakfast good Staff polite but ineffective regarding charging
