Exit market street from train station and turn left; 10 minute walk! Right off Royal Mile! Rooms are spacious and clean! Staff are amazing and very helpful!

This was a great hotel! They have an amazing complimentary breakfast and great food all around . Room was absolutely awesome. Possible the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The only complaint is it says if you have any issues or want room service to text them on what’s app and we texted them a couple times and we never got a response so we never got our tv to work or got room service but other than that it was good!

The staff were excellent. Any question we had was answered quickly. Having the breakfast included was a game changer as eating out in Edinburgh can start adding up quickly. There were a few things we noticed: the plants in the hotel communal area are not being maintained properly. They are wilting and the soil is dry, which is probably why that room has a musty smell and feel. Also, we stayed in the ‘Pale Ale’ suite and there was no clothing storage besides two shelves in the sleeping area. No hangers, no closet, and no hooks to hang anything except some in the living area, but they look like more industrial hooks. Overall we enjoyed our time. The location is perfect for exploring, and there is a major train station within a 5 minute walk of the hotel for exploring other cities.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Doghouse. Having stayed in some lovely hotels over the years, many of them are similar and monotonous. The Doghouse REALLY stands out from the crowd. It has huge amounts of character. The decor is fun and unique and I love how the rooms are themed on the different beers. The room itself was fantastic - on two levels with plenty of space, a large bed, sofa, kitchen and bathroom. The rooms are completely soundproof. There was no noise from the bar or other rooms at all. The food was amazing, we had breakfast there every day as it was included in our stay. The pancakes were huge so I'd only advise getting this if you're very hungry! Vegan breakfast was fantastic, would highly recommend! We also had a burger here on our first night which was very tasty. We might have eaten here a little more during our stay but there isn't a huge choice of options on the dinner menu. Though what they do have, they do very well. The staff were awesome and really made a difference to our stay. So welcoming on arrival, even showing us around our room and letting us know our options for room service, extras, etc. All staff members were very friendly, and approachable. Nothing seemed like it was too much trouble. The hotel is within walking distance of necessities and transport links. I would love to stay here again if I am visiting Edinburgh in the future. If you're in two minds about booking this place, I say do it - you won't regret it!

The Doghouse is a really cool place to stay, eat/drink and socialise. Ideally located within the city and close to the train station. Rooms were great, although attention to detail in some areas are required, overall a very good place to stay. We stayed on a B&B basis and I’d say if you haven’t got B&B as part of your booking you must have breakfast as it’s amazing - well worth the money and will keep you full all day. The little things like pick and mix, shower beer and is dog friendly (perfect in our eyes) made our stay memorable and fun. Will definitely return with our dog 🐶

The rooms are so unique! We had a room that had the bed upstairs and bathroom, living room space and full kitchen amenities downstairs. The staff is wonderful! We love the shower beer, use of guitar.. records available to play! This was our second time here.. and will definitely be back!
