We had a good stay at Premier Inn Durham North overall.
When we arrived, there was an issue with our booking payment. We had already paid through Expedia, but at reception we were initially told that the payment had not gone through and that we would need to pay the full amount again. The receptionist was not very friendly at first and said that this was not their problem, which felt quite stressful after a long journey. In the end, he made a phone call and we were given our room, so the issue was resolved.
Apart from this situation at check-in, the stay itself was very pleasant. We slept very well, the bed was comfortable, and the pillows were good too. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, and we really appreciated that we could open the window.
Breakfast was also good. The breakfast staff were especially lovely — very friendly, cheerful and welcoming. Their positive attitude made a big difference to the overall experience.
So despite the difficult start at reception, we had a comfortable stay and a very good night’s sleep.
