"Claiming to be a 5 star, but it isn't. At least not anymore. Rooms smell mouldy, carpets are dirty. Staff misplaced my pillow and claimed it had never been there, getting back to me took hours, and when they did, it was in the middle of the night. Stayed there for my birthday, mentioned it on check in, on the day itself- not even an acknowledgement. Other hotels have made little cakes, messages when the room was made up etc. for minor occasions. Cutting the trees at 8:30 in the morning at peak breakfast time, loud party music until 10pm. This was anything BUT a retreat."

"I stayed at this hotel as a staycation, and it was so convenient. Everything is close by, and the rooms are very spacious. The only down side was the breakfast which did not have enough variety and wasn’t great but other than that, it’s a very nice hotel. "

"Superb food and beverages in all outlets tried (Liv, Olivino, Wet Deck for food, cocktails at Akira). Very nice, helpful staff. Super comfortable bedding and well noise insulated rooms. Decent gym. Room for improvement: The sauna should be included in the price for guests, not for a surcharge. This needs to be updated in Expedia i.e. should be 'Sauna (surcharge)' not just 'Sauna' if it's not going to be changed. Secondly, not allowing guests to bring their own water bottles to the pool is petty and annoying, especially given its 40C heat and no water is provided at the poolside/ beach unless you want to buy mineral water. This would cost a lot for a whole day at the pool for a family and most other similar hotels do not have this arrangement - for example, Zabeel Saray provide guests with coolers filled with cold filtered water for free. Overall though it's a nice hotel, and I'd recommend particularly for couples and friend groups."
