Douro Litoral hotel rooms a the Porto Bay Hotels & Resorts

"Stayed at the GA Palace Hotel for 5 nights in April 2026. Excellent stay and would highly recommend. Good location within walking distance to all major sites. Staff all very pleasant and helpful. On our first night we didn't want to go too far for our evening dinner but the hotels restaurant didn't open until 7pm, which was very late as we had been up extremely early traveling. Without hesitation the staff checked and the kitchen would open at 6pm. Very accommodating. Our room was a very good size, my only comment would be for more draw space, perhaps at the bedside tables and a chest of drawers in the lounge area rather than a side table to put all your things away and electrical items. I would definitely stay again. Many Thanks."

"The hotel feels brand new. Beautiful open lobby and hallways. Mattresses and linens are soft and very comfortable. Breakfast buffet is excellent but a bit pricey. ($22 each daily as of April 2026)"

"Our stay at the hotel was truly outstanding. From the moment we arrived, everything felt polished and well thought out. The room was spotless and beautifully finished, with a modern, comfortable design that made it easy to relax. One feature we particularly appreciated was the ability to stream directly from our phone to the TV—it’s a small touch, but it made a big difference to our overall experience. The only slight downside was the breakfast. While there was a good selection, the quality didn’t quite match the otherwise high standard of the hotel. That said, it was very busy at the time, so we understand that this may have affected the experience. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily return. The comfort, cleanliness, and thoughtful amenities more than made up for the minor breakfast issue."

"Great hotel, great value. Only thing letting it down is the breakfast (not good value) and the “spa” facilities, the pool and jacuzzi were very dated. Other than that the people were all really nice and helpful, the room was great size and comfy bed."
