"I would give 5 stars to the room - the amazing views and heated plunge pool . Stunning and totally unique. I must note that even though we had a butler with the room - it did not live up to its billing. The staff were very kind and friendly , HOWEVER the quality, level of service and lack of communication between staff did not match the surroundings and cost ( during our stay in St Lucia we stayed in other hotels where service was exceptional and seamless ) . In addition, the food was average, which again was rather disappointing . Though we had an excellent dinner at the Rabot across the road. The hotel’s own trail was short but v good and brought closer fantastic views of the Petit Pitons. Finally , if it’s your thing - The CV, weights and Pilates rooms were very well equipped and extremely good. Overall , I would say 4 stars - we had a very enjoyable and memorable stay but there are a few areas they really need to work on and they should not rely on the view alone to do all the hard work !"

"Very outdated only 1 restaurant on site and food wasn’t good room had bugs mini fridge was on a moving cart that falls off every time you open it. Pool isn’t useable been under construction for over a year! The property had a lot of junk around grounds aren’t kept up .The view was beautiful but you can get that at other places! Do not stay here! "

"This has been the most relaxing holiday we have ever had, we left feeling really nourished by it. All the staff are very welcoming and pleasant, we had all the help we wanted and it always came cheerfully with a smile. Fond Doux has a lovely laid back vibe, lush gardens full of birds, lovely to sit out in the evening listening to frogs and crickets calling. The resort is near to the two Pitons, volcanic hot springs & mud baths, botanical gardens & diamond waterfall, several beaches (a shuttle is provided to Sugar Beach). The Tet Paul Trail is a 30 minute walk up the road (up bring the operative word!) and there is also a ‘Piton View Trail’ within the grounds of Fond Doux which, although steep up and down, is well worth doing. There are two swimming pool areas on the property, both very nice. We didn’t use the sauna or gymn but did join Pilates and Aquarobics which were great. The food was great, the hotel restaurant has a Carribean night with live music - great on both the Saturdays we were there. Highly recommended resort if you prefer quiet, private locations in Nature rather than the larger bustling resorts on offer."

"If you're looking for a small low-key place with phenomenal views and privacy, it's hard to do better than Sam fee Gardens. My wife and I love the room, the relaxed vibe, and many of the friendly staff. The one small inconvenience was very limited food in there tiny store, if you are planning to cook on the premises. Otherwise, truly top-notch all around. The staff was especially helpful in making reservations for dinner and setting up taxi rides as needed."

"Our villa (Lemongrass) was spacious, with all of the basics. They left wine, milk, and coffee to start our trip, along with a special birthday message. Each villa has it's own eclectic vibe. Views and privacy was stellar. Breakfast was lovely. It was great having a full kitchen as well. Dinner at Treetop restaurant was fantastic. Our flight was late and we didn't get a proper check-in and were told someone would follow-up with us the next day. We didn't get that. We also emailed without response. The communication and initial check-in could use some improvement. You need a car or tour/taxi driver to access."

"Everything was nice and clean and pretty new looking. That being said, I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 just because of some small things that seem unfinished around the room we had. Like they were very new and didn't have enough silverware or plates, cups and glasses. We had enough as it was only 2 of us, but if you had more, you would have been short. And things like the light switches need to be finished in. The tap water was safe to drink but often got cloudy so you would have to wait for it clear up. The pool was very nice to have after a long day of hiking. It was convenient to have the Torraille waterfall right there but really, you don't need a lot of time there to experience it. The driveway was super steep so just be prepared for that. We had a small economy car and it did just fine but we were definitely nervous the first time going down and up the driveway. Wendel was a great property manager and was excellent about responding to texts! I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay somewhere with a local feel as opposed to a big resort hotel. "
