"I've stayed at the Stuart a number of times over the last 20 years and each time, it's slightly less good than the last. To be honest I'm not sure why it's in Best Western's portfolio; I think it needs a proper makeover. My colleague and I didn't eat in the hotel in the evening; the menu was basic and there was no atmosphere. Breakfast was pretty good, to be fair. The room was clean and comfortable, though the shower (room 125) was small and awkward; it didn't have an internal fan, and the door kept closing, which was annoying. All in all the whole place seems 'tired'; it really could be so much better."

"This was just a single night arriving late and out early so all I can say is that the hotel was clean and located close to the centre of Derby."

"There was thick dust on the bathroom door, towels and bedding had black dirt marks on and the carpet hadn’t been hoovered and covered in bits. Walls and skirtings really dirty. This is no way a 4 star hotel. On the plus side the staff are friendly "

"The room was spacious, and provides was a complimentary breakfast and beverages to drink. The ensuite is a nice large size. Car parking can be a bit of a squeeze if there are guests with cars staying in all of the flats. There was good friendly communication with the owner most of the time. The WiFi was working, but for some reason not the smart TV. Maybe a previous guest messed it up. The house is on a good bus route, with a stop across the road and regular buses into Derby city centre and late ones back. I would stay here again, despite the negativees about the TV not working during my one night stay and having to park on gravel because all the proper parking spaces were taken. "

"There is lots to say about this property. First rubbish/trash left outside from last tenant, shower drainage issues, then flood through ceiling from drain upstairs. Insecticide powder across patio doorway. No communication from hosts about any of these things. Not really ready for people to stay in this state. "
