"Lovely hotel and very dog friendly, the staff are great and a perfect location."

"I feel the stay could have been better with greater attention to service. We paid for early check in, as we were attending a wedding and wanted to drop our things off/get ready. We were told that our twin bed set up had yet to be turned into separate beds from the king bed. When we got back at 12:30am, the beds hadn't been separated and at that point, just wanted to sleep. It was a really uncomfortable night. The room was stiflingly hot and there were only too small upper windows, not letting enough air in. It got to the point at 5am where it became unbearable, so we attempted to put the supplied fan on, but it made so much noise due to a bent fan, thankfully we managed to adjust it to stop the noise. Everything else was fine. Breakfast was good, the staff on reception were friendly... it's just a shame that the housekeeping service, broken fan, and poor ventilation in the room let the experience down. I couldnt bear to think what it would be like to stay in one of those rooms during a heatwave."

"I would not recommend. Place was so busy with Easter weekend and guests had nowhere to sit, tables dirty, queue for bag long, queue for food long, coffe at breakfast takes 30mins to arrive, didn’t clean our room, didn’t replace towels when asked, complained to manager and nothing done about it. Stay clear and stay at any of the gorgeous places in the Cotswolds "

"I think its very over priced for what it is. Feels like the rooms need an update. There was no dressing table i had to sit on the floor to use the wardrobe mirror. Pillows too soft. Food in the james martin grill was poor very disappointing. Felt a bit let down as it was a treat for my husbands birthday and our anniversary. "

"Poor signage to hotel parking area, dirty stained carpet in bedroom shower so hot much difficulty reducing the temperature Wedding party at the venue so disturbed frequently through the night by other guests No soundproofing and lots of banging doors"

"It was a wonderful way to have a to have a little bit of luxury for my sisters Birthday. The facilities and staff were wonderful and the food was really scrumptious. "

"Sadly our bed (two singles combined) was in need of replacement as it was too soft and springy (we could feel the springs and the beds dipped in the middle. The toilet cistern dripped all night. There was nowhere to hang our bathroom towels - it needed a hook or two in the bathroom for this. I did report these issues calmly to the manager in the morning and she replied that no one else had reported these issues before! The breakfast was nice but we were surprised to only be given half a muffin with one egg - normally eggs Benedict comes with two muffin halves and two eggs. It was tasty though. The hotel was spotless and I complimented one of the housemaids when I saw her in the morning and she was grateful for the positive comment. Location is good, short walk to the centre of Boughton on the Water. I don’t normally complain when I stay anywhere but I was disappointed overall, which was a surprise to me as I had read great reviews."
