"I stayed in one of the cabins and it was so lovely! Clean, cosy and quiet. There is another cabin right next door, and the campervans are just outside, but I didn't notice it at all. A few bits that looked a little neglected, I had to put the shower door seal back on, the bathroom heater had seen better days, and so had the blinds. Check in and check out were simple, and the staff were cheery and happy to help :)"

"I had a wonderful stay at Powter Howe, a real treat. The room and bathroom were immaculately cleaned and well kept and the host is a gem who cooks the best breakfast which includes lovely free range eggs from her own hens. Waking up in the morning to the view over a beautiful garden beyond the lake to Skiddaw was an extra treat as each morning there was a new ever changing Lake District vista. I'll definitely be back! "From the first welcome to the final farewell, it was a joy to stay there. Substantive breakfasts, pet friendly, old manor house setting with great views. Good choice of relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare. Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north."

"2 bedroom lodge was ideal for us for a few nights. The lodge was well equipped and plenty of room. The staff were friendly , polite and really helpful. "
"Special Welcome from super friendly staff on arrival, and very accommodating to a late check out request All 3 members of staff i interacted with went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible.
Great accommodation in beautiful surroundings, and great facilities to enjoy during my stay.
Another great visit here, look forward to returning!"
"The Welsh Rarebit is not authentic. Far too much bread and ham, not enough rarebit. Just blobs of a cheesy mixture piped onto large chunks of bread.
Only disappointing part of my visit."
"Lovely hotel close to the lake and very convenient for the shops, theatre and main attractions. Staff at Reception and at breakfast were all really pleasant and helpful.
Arriving in a car is a bit of a nightmare: the entrance is in a very tight and busy street, so finding somwhere to wait while paying for the hotel car park and getting directions was difficult. If we could have paid for the parking in advance and driven straight to the car park, that would have been much easier.
Breakfast was cooked to order, but really nothing special: one piece of bacon and one (very ordinary) sausage in the Full English breakfast, but a nice spread in the buffet selections. For such an expensive hotel, charging extra for the avocado and other 'special' breakfasts seemed to be taking a liberty."
"The hotel is in a great location and enjoys a lovely reception with bar area and amazing views over lake Windermere. The staff are super friendly and the spa is just great.
Food was excellent having eaten evening meal and breakfast with all cooked fresh to order.
Recommend and will stay again"
"Wonderful hotel perfectly located in Keswick. Great base of operations for seeing the area. No complaints at all about the property. And receptionist Matilda was incredibly kind and helpful! Thank you!"
"Great location overlooking river. Quiet.
Handy for station. Shaver socket not working in 103. No usb sockets. Good internet. Comfortable beds. Hot shower."
"Clean room 21 thank you. Taps could be improved. Flush mechanism in toilet poor. Requires new fill valve to allow correct amount of water in to give a reliable flush. Not good for 2 days stay!"
