"The hotel is well situation and has very helpful staff. Reception staff give all information and are efficient but there was a long wait to check in as i arrived when others were asking a lot of questions and only 2 people serving. I have a mobility aide so this made it more challenging. Room was comfortable and of a good size with a good TV. Shame the plug sockets are not next to the bed as i find this frustrating when charging my phone at night. Another issue was the bath/shower combo. I think it's a shame modern hotels still do this as i find it hard to step into the bath and have never known anyone to take a bath rather than a shower during a hotel stay, unless travelling with children. The reception staff were OK - they gave all information and went through the motions but the breakfast staff were exceptional. Couldn't do enough for me and constantly offered to help. The breakfast itself was massively overcooked and had been under a lamp too long meaning that it was cold when it arrived and burnt. I sent one back and the second one was better. Same thing happened the next day and my friend had similar issues with her breakfast. The toaster wasn't working so we asked for undercooked toast and it came out burnt, along with burnt bacon and overcooked eggs. Still to end on a good note, the restaurant staff were amazing and very helpful and the hotel was located well with good room sizes and comfortable beds."

"Lovely property for a night or two stay. Staff were very nice. I had 2 drinks at the bar. One at night which was calm and quiet & relaxing on my own. Then complimentary coffee in the lobby once again really nice and relaxing. I slept fairly well and felt safe on my own. Bathroom had hair on the sink but wasn’t enough to complain as the rest was very clean. Walls could do with a referb as stains were on the wall. But overall a lovely hotel and having lovely reception staff and accommodating staff helps your stay a lot better especially as I needed to be at the Queen Elizabeth hospital at this sad time. Thanks to the lovely reception lady that took care of my coffee & made sure my directions back to the hospital was easy. Unfortunately I did not get her name. "

"It’s a very nice place, wonderfully decorated while still retaining the charm of the original property such a the windows. Although that has its downside, as with no double glazing and being next to a busy road, it wasn’t the quietest, but we managed ok. We had a king room so the bed was lovely and spacious, and was pretty comfortable. The bathroom was very modern, but could have done with more surfaces to put things. The shower was also big, but the water pressure could have been a bit better, and the shower glass was quite narrow so very easy to get the bathroom a bit wet. The room also had a small smart tv, which we appreciated. Breakfast was included and was nice. You can choose from 4 options. The portions are a little meagre though, for the price of the accommodation I would have appreciated more control over breakfast. They don’t do lunch or dinner at all, so you have no choice but to eat elsewhere or order takeaway. All the cafes and restaurants are I believe about a 15/20 minute walk away. We arrived somewhat late the first day and with no energy left to walk to a restaurant, so got a takeaway. The staff member on duty was very helpful by giving us cutlery. Overall, it’s a very acceptable place to stay, but I feel you’re paying more for the way the place looks rather than what you’re receiving."

"No problems with the travelodge but please book direct and not through hotels.com Thanks to them I was nearly unable to check in as you need physical ID which they never told me. I’ve since made several complaints and not been acknowledged. Very poor website that I won’t use again. For anyone staying here you must take ID if you book through an agent - but not if you book direct makes no sense I know!"

"Only stayed one night, the beds are very tried and stain, the dressing table stool was not safe and the window did not lock. Bathroom was clean as was the bedding. Good location for visitors."

"No parking available. Incredibly slow check-in. Another couple then let themselves into our room! Manager wanted to know why we were in there and when we had checked in. Keys clearly work on multiple rooms. We left as we felt uncomfortable and unsafe. Manager stated we had been given the wrong room, but said in such a way it felt as though it was our fault. Contacted the hotel twice regarding refund as we then had to find alternative accommodation at our own cost. No response at all. They also ignored hotels.com who we had booked through. Avoid at all costs."
