"A little tucked away - so be aware not to drive by it quickly on the A55.
Staff were excellent and the Burger King next door was great - the food was yummy (better than other BK's I've been too).
Ideal location for onward trips to North Wales"

St George's Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Huge hotel with very friendly staff. Right on the sea front."

The Hand Hotel Llangollen by Compass Hospitality
2/10 Terrible
"If you don’t want to stay up till early hours of the morning, best to book somewhere else. We paid a high amount for the room to find we was above the bar with music playing till early hours of the morning."

Quay Hotel and Spa
10/10 Excellent
"All good "

IXORA Hotel and Spa
8/10 Good
"Room was spacious, quite well thought out and very clean. Had all the amenities needed and the separate shoulder and bathroom cubicles were a nice touch. The hotel itself is modern, large and offers lovely surroundings. Free parking was a bonus (although it got very busy and we almost didn’t have a space returning at 10pm on our second night). Staff all friendly and polite. Plenty of towels and toiletries in the room. Handy little 24hr shop at reception selling any essentials you may have forgotten. The Spa was the standout feature and we really enjoyed this. Although it is extra cost it felt worth it! The heated outdoor pool is gorgeous! Only let down was that the housekeeping staff removed a bag of snacks we’d bought with us (some unopened and full). I politely reported it at 3pm understanding they may have just mistaken it for rubbish. The kind lady on reception said she would call and enquire with them. By the time we checked out the following morning, no one had got back in contact, offered a small token such as a complementary snack from the shop or even an apology. Overall though, a fantastic stay!"

The Marine Hotel
8/10 Good
"Good location and facilities, bit tatty and very noisy at night due to being placed above a function room."

White Heather Hotel
8/10 Good
"Friendly staff, clean room,
good breakfast"

Waterloo Hotel Lodge
8/10 Good
"Really clean, beautiful setting and friendly staff. The food was good too.
The only reason for dropping a star was the pool facilities. They felt a little tired and in need of some proper maintenance. The lockers and changing areas were quite ropey – with outdoor shoes effectively allowed right up to poolside. There’s only one shower in each changing room, and in the ladies there’s just a single private changing space sectioned off with a shower curtain.
What impacted our stay most was that the pool is only accessible via an outdoor route. On both visits we had to run back across the car park in wet swimsuits to return to our room to shower and change. It also meant we didn’t make use of the pool after checkout. Checkout was 10:30am but pool access was available until lunchtime, which would have been lovely in theory. However, as a family of four staying one night, the bedroom facilities were so good that we just couldn’t justify showering and getting ready in the gym changing rooms."

The Beaches Hotel and Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Julie on reception was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean"

The Wild Pheasant Hotel & Spa
4/10 Poor
"Unfortunately if you book a room through anyone other than the hotel then the spa facilities cost extra and the availability of the sessions in the spa are limited to 12 people at a time and are usually booked days in advance. To be charged extra for the spa after booking into a hotel advertised as hotel and spa, I was quite shocked. They will also charge extra for a towel and significantly extra for a robe. The rooms aren’t services unless requested, which we didn’t read until our second evening after wondering why the room hadn’t been serviced. If you wanted extra coffee and tea, it is an additional £5 per tray… the rooms are cramped in tightly and there is no telephone in the room so if you have any queries, then you have to walk a long way to find help. Such a shame as the location was great and the lady on the reception was very friendly but it is way too expensive for what you get here, I would advise to look elsewhere. "
