The Royal Lion Hotel

The Royal Lion Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"The room smelt extremely badly of sewage. We did raise it with management and they changed our room. Although this was a dog friendly room and smelt a bit doggy it was much better than the original room. Sharon was extremely apologetic and helpful and the rest of our stay was wonderful"

"I booked a last minute stay at this cosy B&B. We were greeted kindly by the host when we arrived and shown to our room. We stayed in a room which used a shared shower and toilet and had no issues with this, we didn’t see anyone else until breakfast! Breakfast (full English) was really tasty and set us up for the day. Would recommend to people who are looking for a cosy stay."

Harbour Hotel Sidmouth

"I would like to have given the Sidmouth Harbour Hotel 5 stars. However, I have only given it 4 stars because the main hotel description on Expedia is inaccurate. It says "this hotel sits directly on a pebble beach....". It does not. It is situated about 3 minutes walk from the beach, 75 feet above sea level on the adjacent hillside. I pointed this error out to the receptionist, who agreed the description is incorrect. But it has not been changed. In all other respects, the hotel met our expectations. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food at breakfast and dinner was very good. I particularly enjoyed the pianist playing the piano during Sunday lunch. I recommend this hotel to couples who are looking for a luxurious stay."
