"Hotel is beautiful and historic. A bit dated…my room could’ve used a makeover. It was tiny with very little counter space, peeling finish on tub, well-worn and dated fixtures. However, it was very clean with a comfy bed. Cafe Fuller was disappointing. $25 buffet and no bloody mary’s or mimosas (or any alcohol options). The bar upstairs has only a charcuterie option and doesn’t allow outside food to be delivered. The hotel comes off a bit stodgy and dated and needs to compete better in these areas. Every staff member I dealt with was extremely friendly, helpful and professional. Front desk, valet, housekeeping…all top notch! Had a pleasant, safe stay here."

"The hotel location was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room were clean and comfortable. My only negative was the not so bright hallways to get to the room, but I would definitely stay here again."

"Our room was spacious and comfortable. The only "do better" is to regrout some of the shower. It appears there is some stained grout that makes it look like mold (not sure if it was or not). The staff was excellent and so helpful whenever we had questions."

"Our stay at the Austin Marriott Downtown was exceptional from start to finish. We were greeted with a warm welcome and graciously accommodated with an early check-in several hours ahead of schedule, which was such a thoughtful touch. We were also provided with a $50 daily breakfast credit, which more than covered two entrees, drinks, and snacks. The breakfast itself was outstanding, with an excellent à la carte selection and attentive, friendly service. Our room was modern, spacious, and comfortable, with a polished feel that made our stay all the more enjoyable. Although there was construction next to the hotel, we were on a higher floor and experienced no disruption from the noise. Overall, the hospitality, thoughtful amenities, and quality of service made for a wonderful stay. We would absolutely recommend the Austin Marriott Downtown and would happily return on our next visit to Austin."

"Stayed 5 days. Location is the selling point, as we wanted the walkability and we got it. The hotel is old, but they make the effort to keep it clean. The staff was wonderful without exception. The free parking was convenient and easy to use. The bathroom had been updated to a walk in shower, which was fine - but the floor tiles in front of the toilet weren't attached. I expect the floor wasn't perfectly level when they did the remodel. Ceiling showed seams in drywall from expansion/moisture. Windows overlooking the lake were FILTHY - made it hard to justify the extra expense for the top floor with a lake view. Room fridge and keurig worked fine. Could use an extra outlet at the desk - the light and the fridge/microwave were using both outlets, so the lamp got unplugged. Lamp did have usb charger outlet, which was nice."
