"My husband, teen daughter and friend, and I arrived around 9:30pm after a day at Sea World. We were rerouted my lol for check-in due to a wedding. It wasn’t incredibly inconvenient. Check-in was quick. We parked in the garage ($55), walked the pedestrian walk, and went to our room on the 16th floor. The room was clean and comfortable. I had made the reservation for 4 people; however there were only 3 towel sets. Frustrating. Called housekeeping, and they had another set delivered in about thirty minutes. Had to go downstairs to The Cannery to redeem tickets the front desk gave us for water bottles. Kind of inconvenient. Then to refill them, we had to go back to the first floor.
Next morning as were getting ready, we noticed some details that had been overlooked. Looking out the window, there were drips of what appeared to be paint, or maybe sealer, coming from the top of the window sill. The tall lamp by the window had a piece hanging down from if, as did the bed-lamp mounted on the wall. Just details that I didn’t expect to see considering the $220 I spent for the night. The small makeup mirror was a nice touch in the bathroom; however, the light didn’t work on it. Plus, sitting on the counter made it uncomfortable to use.
All in all our stay was good. It’s in the tiny details that expectations tend to get lost."
"Really great boutique motel. Check in details were tricky because “we used Expedia” (we didn’t) that seems like something they should figure out considering how many people book with third party booking sites. Also both AC united had absolutely filthy filters and flashing filter lights on. I cleaned them both but only one AC unit actually worked. It never ceases to amaze how hotels can’t keep up with AC maintenance. Also, “free self parking” was a joke, only 6 parking spots for like 12 or so rooms. We never once saw an open parking spots. Besides those details the room was perfect and the location was amazing."
"Here's our experience with the Omni San Diego Hotel.
My family traveled to San Diego for the first time to attend our son's Marine graduation—one of the most important and memorable events of our lives. We chose this hotel based on its location and positive reviews.
The room itself was fine, and housekeeping did a decent job. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended.
Our son's graduation ended around 11:30 AM on Friday. We politely asked for a slightly later checkout so we could return, shower, change clothes, and collect our luggage before heading to the airport. The hotel offered only one extra hour—for an additional $50. Since that didn't really help our situation, we were forced to check out at 5:00 AM and drag all of our luggage with us to the graduation ceremony.
The front desk staff was unfriendly and, at times, outright rude. This was especially disappointing considering we weren't asking for anything unreasonable.
Another surprise was the "included breakfast" that somehow turned into a $35-per-person breakfast charge.
The pool was ice cold. The hot tub water was cloudy and looked dirty, and the hot tub itself wasn't even working. When we asked staff about it, we were basically told it wasn't their concern.
The food downstairs was overpriced and, frankly, not worth eating.
And as the cherry on top, this hotel sells a can of Coca-Cola for $5. A can that costs about 50 cents elsewhere. That's a 900% markup.
We left San Diego disappointed ."
