"Unique setting and experience. Not cheap but worth it for our one night in the area. Nice sized room with lots of complimentary drinks and snacks. Our view was pretty but you had to look out over the HVAC array, which detracted a bit from the beach and mountains (probably the only con we could think of). We ate at the hotel restaurant and had a wonderful meal well worth the price. Also a nice breakfast. The cliffs and beaches are nice to walk around but not much else in the immediate area."

"Authentic home in Portugal that once was a farm. Original cobble stone and building structure with some relics remain. This property will soon transform to a wellness spa keeping its heritage intact. I was greeted by wonderful staff and enjoyed beautiful breakfasts overlooking the ocean vista. In front of the hotel, the restaurant is fantastic and great walking distance from the town, with an easy lane for walking, jogging or biking. "

"What an incredible experience! Built in the 1940s (I believe) on a 17th century fort on a windblown beach in a national park? Yes please! The natural beauty alone is worth staying here. But the use of stone and wood and natural elements was superb. I saw some reviews complain about the age of the place. Well my room and the whole wing appears quite new. Decor is simple and comfortable and more than spacious enough for Americans. My room (#50) had a huge patio with views of both the dunes and the beach! Housekeeping works hard here! Keeping the sand out when it blows in the air and folks track it in must be impossible but I walked barefoot in my room with no grit. The best part was the service. They let me put my luggage in early and after I checked out so I could walk the beach. They even walked me to my room. Very helpful despite language barriers- MINE, my Portugese is non existent. Hands signals and smiles and patience fixed that. If you need a day or two of quiet after a busy city like Lisbon I highly recommend this local beach off the beaten track"

"Absolutely loved staying here. Everyone we encountered was very nice and helpful. It is the perfect spot if you want to spend some time in Lisbon but don’t want to be around the hectic night life. The resort is super clean and parking is everywhere. The only thing is the smell of the air freshener they use on the hallways. It is very strong and really doesn’t smell good. "

"Staff are great, especially front desk - always well staffed, professional, efficient, friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Pool perfectly warmed. Outdoor pool also maintained and usable. Easy stroll to Pingo Doce, farmacia, and endless spectacular coast, including the mouth of hell."

"Beautiful property, very spacious units, in fact it could have easily slept quite a few more people. The 2 bedroom unit is actually a 3 bedroom and the 1 bedrooms we saw all had 2 bedrooms. The extra bedroom was small with two twin beds which is maybe why they don’t count it? We loved it and would stay there again. Two complaints only: 1-it was quite damp and cold when we arrived so it would have been nice if they had turned the heat on in preparation for our arrival. 2-it wasn’t clear that we needed to go to the boutique hotel and not the main hotel to check in. This could have easily been fixed with communication and driving instructions so we could find the hotel."
