Best Western Carlsbad by the Sea
The sofa was ni better than a bus stop . Made of vinyl. No arms . Just a bench. I was 1 hr early . Asked for a early check-in. Didn't bother to tell me there wS a $25 charge. Till he had my paperwork ready . I would have waited the hour . Never been charged for early check-in in my life

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Carlsbad - Legoland Area
Bathrooms are sorely outdated . Clean, but sorely outdated. Same story with the TV in the room and the AC unit.

Terrible staff with drug users everywhere. Marijuana smokers evidently homeless right outside the office to the left every day & every night.

Amazing location - but make sure that you ask about room cleaning. They only proactively clean every 3 days, but you can request more frequently.

Great stay overall. The place was very clean and in an excellent location, which made getting around easy and convenient.
