I had an incredible stay at The Blind Bull. It’s one of those rare places that feels truly quiet and serene the moment you arrive. The surroundings are beautiful, the atmosphere is calm, and it’s the perfect spot to unwind.
The food was absolutely outstanding — fresh, thoughtful, and genuinely some of the best I’ve had on this trip. The service was just as impressive: warm, attentive, and genuinely lovely without ever feeling overbearing.
I left feeling rested and really well looked after. I’d come back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.
Would highly recommend such a beautiful property, from arriving to leaving friendly staff fantastic breakfast, dined in the restaurant good was amazing Thank you all at The Blind Bull for the most perfect stay x
Fantastic stay. The room was brand new, really well-equipped, spacious and spotless. The tub was definitely a big plus. And breakfast was really tasty. All in all, a perfect stay !
It was very peaceful - perfect location for hiking! The room was quite large and comfortable, the bathroom was spotless. It’s dog-friendly which was an added bonus and the food was excellent.
Fabulous modern rooms with comfortable king size bed. Huge bathroom with twin showers . Outside patio with fabulous views over the Derbyshire countryside
Excellent food in the restaurant . Cosy dining and bar area . Close to Chatsworth, Buxton, Matlock & Bakewell
Nice birthday break away
Beautiful room with a fantastic en-suite. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food is very good well above normal pub standards. Would stay again.
We stayed in the barn for 3 days and had a wonderfully relaxing time. The food at the pub is outstanding. Best breakfast selection I have ever experienced. The chef is clearly extremely passionate about their craft.

Liked: Staff & service
Could be kept better garden was untidy and grass needed cutting. Restaurant was very good, nice evening meal and great breakfast. Lovely Rural location perfect for walkers
Fantastic stay in this gastropub. Finished to a high standard in an amazing part of the peaks. Breakfast was stunning and our evening dinner was first class. Only minor quibble was hearing the people above us in our room
We had a fabulous 1 night stay, room was beautiful, patio area was great too.
Only negative feedback was no milk and only a coffee machine which was awful for tea drinkers as the water tastes like coffee still.
Saying this however we would come back and just bring a kettle! :0)
Charming picturesque location
Dinner let it down though - as a guest we should have been told to pre-order from the menu as there was little choice left by the time we got seated at the table
Very comfortable and cosy accommodation in a warm and welcoming pub .
Immaculately clean and very well appointed.
Easy parking and electric car charging points.
Delicious evening meal ….highly recommend eating in!
Breakfast choice a little limited and few options for a Coeliac.
Staff very kind and friendly
We stayed in the barn and it was beautiful. Double volume, exposed brickwork and a log burner. Well equipped kitchen with coffee machine and dishwasher. Quality bedding and immaculate, they even left a couple of bottles of the local IPA for us, which I really annoyingly left in the fridge!! Staff were super friendly, especially Annie who was lovely, and the food and drink were exceptional. We will be back.
Lovely location in the scenic countryside and super clean accommodation with gorgeous bathroom and comfy bed. Food was very tasty but portions on the small side. Breakfast could definitely do with some small but significant extras. No choice of fruit juice, no toast or cereals and no ketchup or brown sauce available. I’m not keen on muffins and cinnamon rolls for breakfast so a choice would have been better. Tried to have some bar snacks, but they were too busy in the restaurant so couldn’t serve us anything but bread. I would stay here again for the location and comfort but they could up their game when it comes to other areas..
