"As a retired former resort manager who now spends around 9 months a year living in hotels, i know that a happy staff makes for a happy family, and a happy family can make a hotel stay for guests feel like a 'home away from home'. This was my first stay at the Movenpik, and I know already it will not be my last, I was here for 9 days and I will leave happy and with the fondest of memories. The grounds were beautiful, my room was more than comfortable, my meals were delicious, but it was the staff who made my stay especially memorable- and it is them who deserve a special shout out. To Jewel and Rey and Ivan who checked me in and made me comfortable and welcome from my first moments on the property; to Gelo and Garry and Ivan and Jane and Oli and AJ and Kyle and Ben and Clent and the rest of the staff at The Market who made my poolside breakfast such a pleasure every day; to Stephen and Jasper and Ana and Aishiyll who kept my room clean and engaged me in lovely conversations everyday; and to Mark and Laverne and James and Willy and Jay and Arlene and Mika Rose and the rest of the beach side staff who made my time by the sea so enjoyable- I thank you all most sincerely for making my stay such a memorable one. "They lied to even as we were checking in. They claimed the rooms had a Terrace. There is one Terrace on the top floor which is shared by everyone else staying on the top floor, the beach view from the room is nonexistent. You open your curtains to see roof tops of buildings next to the hotel. If you are lucky you might be able to get a glimpse of the water between the roof tops. We had booked a premiere room and nothing inside was premiere. Rooms were small and furniture outdated and beat up. Beware the website paints a different picture of what you are really getting. I can’t believe their Starr rating. I am thinking it was fake reviews posted by the people who work there. They would not let us cancel any of the three nights we booked, fyi we had booked two rooms for three nights. So we didn’t check out and went up the way and booked at the Astoria two rooms for 3nights. We went back on the 3rd day to checkout. We didn’t want these crooks getting double booking for these crappy rooms. I can go on how bad this place is but it doesn’t deserve this much advertising talking about it. "
