Plus points - great location. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The room we had was very spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hotel itself was well maintained.
Minus Points - Dinner Buffet was, to my wife and I, a bit of a disappointment. There are very few dishes for foreigners and those that were available, it would seem the chef had little idea how to cook them. My wife, who is a Filipina was equally disappointed with the local dishes. The Breakfast buffet again was a disappointment for western tastes. Pretty much all the offerings were for the Filipino taste, with just scrambled egg or fried egg on offer for western tastes. Every other day a type of very bland ‘processed’ bacon (yes, I’d never heard of it before either) was on offer. Why processed and only on alternate days was beyond me. No omelette, yoghurt, orange marmalade, salted butter, was offered in the buffet. Again a great disappointment for what is reputed to be a 5 star hotel! However a very big shoutout to the restaurant supervisor Marty and one of the excellent waitresses, Ian Grace, who were absolutely fantastic and did everything in their power to make our visit enjoyable!
The Spa area is tucked into a corner between the noisy buffet restaurant and a small swimming pool. Very noisy and very hot and humid! No aircon or ceiling fans. Also the massage beds are simply pool loungers, not proper massage beds or chairs. (See pic)
