Pretty property, simple room, helpful host. Cheap!

I am really glad that we had a chance to stay with Vinh and his family at their homestay. The home cooked food was some of the best we've had in SE Asia! Vinh was an excellent host. He arranged cave tours, loaned us his bikes, found transportation from the airport, and even got his uncle to drive us seven hours south yo Hoi An. The ride was in a brand new 4-door HiLux at a very reasonable rate. The room and attached bath were simple; comparable to a US State Park cabin. Regular flooding along the river means that everything is a bit musty, including the room. But the beds are clean and comfortable and the price is embarrassingly low. So we left Vinh a nice tip.

Jolie chambre, il manquait seulement l’eau chaude et une couverture en plus pour les nuits les plus fraiches (je vois que les avis disent déjà la même chose). Le couple de propriétaires est au demeurant très arrangeant mais insiste souvent pour vous transporter ici ou là. Il est vrai que le homestay est un peu excentré mais à pied, c’est bien aussi

Avulias majoittaja, suositteli aktiviteetteja ja varasi meille retket. Huone oli tilava, ilmastointi oli hyvä, sängyt isot ja mukavat. Huone kylpyhuonetta lukuunottamatta siisti. Majoittajalla oli ihana koira! Monsuunikausi ehkä vaikuttanut negatiivisesti paikan kuntoon? Piha-alue ei vastannut kuvia, näytti vähän siltä kuin majoitustoiminta olisi loppunut ja alue jäänyt hoitamatta. Ruokailualue oli ulkona, sateella katos vuoti vettä sen verran, että siinä kastui. Kylpyhuoneen katto myös vuoti, tila todella kostea ja märkä. Muurahaiset tekivät pesää ja veti puoleensa myös torakoita. Ruokien/juomien käsittelyssä ja keittiötiloissa hygienian näkökulmasta parannettavaa. Loppulaskussa oli hieman hämmennystä. Esim. polkupyörien lainaaminen varaustietojen mukaan kuuluu yöpymisen hintaan, mutta siitä veloitettiin maksu. Majoituspaikassa ei etukäteen myöskään mainittu, että onkin maksullista. Ymmärrämme toki että kyseessä on budjettimajoitus ja haluamme uskoa että sesongin aikaan asiat ovat paremmin! Ei suoraan liity majoituspaikkaan, mutta ympäröivään alueeseen. Alueella oli paljon vahtikoiria irrallaan. Lähtökohtaisesti eivät kiinnittäneet huomiota kadulla liikkuviin ihmisiin, mutta yksi koira täysin ilman syytä lähti ajamaan takaa vihaisena. Tämän jälkeen kadulla liikkuminen tuntui pelottavalta, vaikka en koiria ole aiemmin pelännyt.

Very nice host. He gave us a lot of advice and tips for trekking in the national park; he even booked the tours for us. The food was delicious as well. The rooms were more spacious than we expected.

Best Homestay in Phong Nha

I am a fastidious person. I always pay great attention to detail because I like everything to be very neat, accurate, and in good order. I didn't expect much when I stayed at homestay but everything here made me happy. Everything in the room is arranged harmoniously and comfortably. You can find the power outlet anywhere to charge your devices, whether in the room or outside space. Flexible lamp and user friendly table for laptop. The bathroom designed with stone pebbles to keep the floor nice and always dry without glass wall. The host is very nice and kind. He helped us a lot. I really like this homestay. It's absolutely good value for the price and perfect location: near the river and my adventure tours headquaters, easy to enter Phong Nha center by free bicycle. There are so many things to say. You won't have this unique and interesting experience at any other accommodation in Phong Nha ❤

A lovely stay!

It was lovely staying with Vinh and hos family. They are very inviting and helpful, do not miss out on having home cooked dinner with them- it was delicious. It is a perfect location if you like us don’t want to be in the middle off all the touristy mess. We will definitely come back to Highway 20 homestay.

Lovely homestay

Highway 20 was a lovely place to stay. The family were very helpful and welcoming and were always there to help us book tours. The location is great, very peaceful and not too far from the town where there are shops and hotel restaurants. We ate dinner one night at the homestay with the family. The food was amazing and it was a great experience. Would definitely recommend this homestay.
