"This hotel is great for the location to the cathedral but i am afraid this the breakfast was the only great thing about it. All the staff we encountered were lovely but this hotel is tired and run down. We had a deluxe room but there was nothing deluxe about it apart from a balcony with a view but the balcony was dirty and there was no chairs to sit out on. The carpets were vile and there were cobwebs inside the balcony doors and vents. The bath panel was broken and we had to push it back in place when we first entered the room. Such a shame this place could be amazingly."

"Im very fussy when it comes to hotels and was unsure about this hotel but choose it because i was visiting friends who live very close by. I was totally blown away. Lovely friendly reception team. Clean and modern room. Went over to restaurent for breakfast which was well cooked and presented. I normally find hotel breakfasts expensive but it was good value for money"

"We stayed for one night to meet friends on the waterfront. Perfect location for the eateries there and easy access to the high street too. Parking is a little limited at peak times but there’s a multi storey next door. Staff were really pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was really good too with lots of choice, although the coffee wasn’t great. The room was spacious and clean and perfect for what we needed it for. Will stay again if we’re in the area."

"The hotel is beautiful and decorated fantastically! All staff are extremely kind, helpful, and accommodating, which makes guests feel truly welcomed. Rooms are stunning and include a little tea-and-snack station, which I adored. The breakfast room was stunning, and the selection was fantastic: pastries, toast, bagels, cereals, fruits, snack bars, and my favourite, a yoghurt parfait. Will definitely be staying again!"

"A lovely place but unfortunately let down by rude staff, bad room placement and broken air conditioning. There was a wedding taken place and the music went on into the night, between this and the broken air conditioning, our young baby was disturbed through the night. We contacted Gary the nightporter who was helpful and explained they knew it was an issue and to raise it with management the following day. We contacted management by email in the end as no one was available the following day. I was contacted by Vicky, who did offer a tokenistic 20% off on future bookings but implied I had lied about all issues and failed to respond when I queried her approach. Really disappointing, at over £200 a night - we got no sleep and our baby really didn’t enjoy the next day owing to his discomfort in the night. A real shame that it could have been resolved so easily with effective customer service and a kind manner."

"This is the second time I've stayed here in recent months. Staff are great and nothing is too much trouble. The biggest highlight for me are the rooms. The first time I stayed I walked into my room to find aircon, a separate seating area with a table and the room was huge!! I thought they'd upgraded me and forgotten to tell me. The last time was the same, not quite as big a room as last time but plenty big enough. I think they need to update their photos on Hotels.com as they just don't do the actual rooms justice and it might put people off staying there. I was nervous the first time I arrived as the pictures of the rooms made them look REALLY dated, but they're not, they're exceptional!"
