location was good and safe, but this hotel is over-rated. They are extremely cheap - giving you half a bottle of water (compared to costco's bottled water) and they only allow 1 cup of coffee that you make in your room with a Britta coffee-maker that we could not get to work. I wish I had stayed someplace else, that would certainly have been a better deal.

Property is in an excellent location. Staff were very helpful. In the heart of Barcelona, up from the ramblas, pool on rooftop was perfect to refresh, yes it’s a bit small and a bit cold, but it’s on a rooftop what more can you expect! Breakfast was nice but there’s lots of nice eateries out to the right of the hotel only 30-50 yards away that should be sampled too. If we came back to Barcelona we would return no doubt.

El Avenida Palace is marvellous. Just returned and spent three nights there. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. The hotel is beautiful. It truly is a palace that has been renovated. Our room was large and spacious with a juliet balcony overlooking the street, however it was quiet. The location is perfect, you can seriously walk anywhere and there are so many great restaurants around. I'll definitely be back!
