Purdy Lodge

"From the minute we set foot in the door, we were made to feel welcome. The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for them at any hour. The food was delicious for the 4 breakfasts and 3 evening meals we ate there. I would stay at Purdy Lodge again and I'd suggest it to anyone who is planning on visiting Northumberland. Although, the hotel was literally on the A1, there was very little noise at the back of the hotel where we stayed. The hotel was ideally situated for local sites/towns of interest including Bamburgh, Seahouses, Alnwick etc. We would definitely advise others to visit the Purdy Lodge and would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for making our 10th anniversary holiday amazing."

"We loved to stay at Hillcrest bed-and-breakfast it’s absolutely amazing place few steps away from Bamburgh Castle. The stuff was caring and responding to every our need or questions. Breakfast is excellent at this place every morning freshly cooked classic British breakfast."

"This is a comfortable cottage in a beautiful and quiet location, not far from Bamburgh and with easy access to the beach at Budle Bay. The cottage is old, but the kitchen and bathroom have been recently modernised. The kitchen has a fridge and electric hob and the bathroom has an electric shower. There is a television in the sitting room, and there is off-road parking. There are no shops or eating places in easy walking distance, but Bamburgh is a 5 minute drive and Seahouses - with many restaurants, pubs and shops - only another 10 minutes away. We were slightly concerned reading earlier reviews of this property, but the owner has clearly fixed the issues mentioned there."

"A lovely rural setting, 20 minute walk from Bamburgh, 5 minutes in the car. Plenty of parking, although the ‘10 steps to door’ wasn’t quite accurate. Yes for unloading & loading, but the parking area was a little further. The Hayloft was very well equipped and comfortable although the dining chairs had seen better days - cushions on the seats solved that. Lovely to have the hot tub available after a couple of boat trips in inclement weather. Unfortunately we didn’t get the opportunity to play table tennis or make use of the pods, but great facilities to have on site. It would have been helpful for the ‘resort’ name of Bamburgh First be somewhere on the paperwork - 2 Dukesfield Cottages is nowhere to be found!"
