"Great comfortable stay with lovely dining facilities. The room was exceptional. I love the fridge with fresh milk and water which you don’t always get these days. Our dog Toby enjoyed his staff too and dogs are well catered for. "

"My partner and I had a wonderful three-night stay at Rhinefield House for his birthday. The staff were all excellent - a special mention to Deborah at breakfast and afternoon tea, whose warmth and personality really stood out - but everyone we encountered was lovely. They also made a thoughtful effort to acknowledge my partner’s birthday, which we hadn’t expected and really appreciated. We were lucky with the weather, which meant we could properly enjoy the beautiful grounds, especially sitting by the pond - a real highlight of the stay. A couple of minor points of feedback. On the first morning we were woken at around 5.30am by a fairly loud, continuous noise, like a motor running. This did continue intermittently throughout the stay, including late at night and early mornings, although not quite as loud after the first instance. It wasn’t disruptive enough for us to request a room move, but worth noting. Secondly, the outdoor pool is open from 9am to 4pm. As we were out during the day, it would have been nice if it stayed open later. We did have a look while passing and it looked like it could do with a bit of attention - there were leaves in the water and it didn’t feel particularly inviting. Appreciate it’s early in the season, but a bit of upkeep here would go a long way. I mention these as constructive feedback rather than criticism, as overall we had a really lovely first stay. Thank you to the team - we would definitely return."

"Can not fault any aspect of two nights spent in the Burley Inn, nothing was too much trouble from all the staff we came into. Lorraine and Steve were particularly helpful, friendly and very polite. One very small negative point there was not a USB charging point in the room but a this was overcome by the staff providing a plug with a USB attachment. Would stay in the Burley Inn again without any hestitation if and when I am in the Area. Mike Glendinning "

"Surprised we were given a room with a disabled bathroom but glad we didn't have stairs to climb as we are OAPs. Room was clean and had everything we needed for our one night stay. Disappointed with breakfast. We opted for continental breakfast. Regardless of arriving just after 8.30am, there was little choice and quantity available. We noticed other guests who were waiting for hot food had already taken large quantities of the continental choices, to be consumed as a second course. Regardless of being entitled to all the food on offer, it seemed rather greedy to deprive other guests. Maybe more food should be provided. The coffee and milk flasks were difficult to use. Had to ask for help from another guest as no staff around. Toaster was ineffective as toast was hardly brown. Very disappointed and left the table hungry. "

"Great place to stay in heart of Christchurch, overlooking the cathedral. The renovations are beautiful, giving a relaxing, arty vibe in which to relax, with a high standard of decor. Staff are fantastic, very friendly whilst professional, and made all guests feel really welcome. Great welcome on arrival, friendly, pleasant and helpful. All seemed to enjoy working there! It could do with some sofas/easy chairs for guests to relax in apart from the bar, ‘cafe’, or restaurant areas, but this didn’t spoil our stay as no one hurried us out of either. Maybe some low coffee tables in place of some of the cafe tables? Will definitely be staying again, such fantastic service from all staff in a lovely, welcoming environment."
