I was placed in one room that was still quite dirty and OLD. Everything was so old; outdated. There was an odd smell everywhere. I couldn't believe it. Because of the filth in the first room I was given, the front desk person switched my room. So now I'm in a new room that was also old/outdated and the housekeeper had to clean the tub immediately. There were no towels either. Housekeeping said they'd bring some, which took 3 hours!!! I couldn't believe it! Front desk folks were kind. Head of Housekeeping was very personable and understanding. Unfortunately, I don't foresee myself ever choosing this hotel again...at least not until it gets a real overhaul.

There was a bad smell in these rooms with very old furniture. The biggest advantage of the hotel is that it is in a central location. The staff at the reception were friendly and attentive.

We arrived on Friday 12:00 AM with confirmed reservations and the hotel told us there were no more rooms. This was the night of the computer problems at the airports around the world. The non airconditioned hotel room was taken by the guest in front of us who were also waiting with reservation. We got our money back from Expedia and some added credits for our inconvenience.

I booked a room through Expedia and paid in advance only to find no rooms were available when I arrived. Attempts to contact Expedia or Barclay Hotel to receive a refund have failed. I’ve not been able to speak to a live agent through Expedia and no one answers the phone at Barclay! I will be going through my credit card company to reverse charges!

It’s frustrating when you pick something that Expedia calls “Very Good” only to find a royal dump when you get there. Vents were caked in thick layers of dust. Yellow stained pillow cases and lamps. Moldy smell. Unprofessional staff.

The staff was amazing, they were extremely helpful and absolutely willing to help with anything. The rooms were a bit run down and not up to date. They did not have refrigerators or microwaves. The water wasn’t the warmest most showers were only minimally warm. The sliding to the patio would not close, I think a little more effort from the cleaning crew would make a big difference

NIGHTMARE
Checked in got to our room, it was 90+ degress, NO AIR CONDITIONER. Went and reported to front desk and left hotel for concert. Get back at 1am and room was still 90+, went to front desk and was successfully moved into new room with ac working. Shower in morning was luke warm and barely tollerable. At check in they told me to park across street in garage, pay and they would validate. Charged me $18 at front desk, then was charged $50 when leaving garage. I told lady at check out and she told me they would reimburse parking, well they have not done so. I was almost crushed by elevator door cause the safety switch is broke. I stay at a lot of hotels and this one was easily the worse place ive stayed. Im traveling back to ATL in a month and no way will stay here. $68 to park overnight, no AC in first room, dangerous elevator.

Avoid this hotel, forced on us by Hotels.com
We were basically forced to stay at terrible The Barclays, since our Expedia/VRBO reservation fell through at the last minute and we were very limited on what was available and how much Expedia/VRBO would cover under their almost worthless "Book with Confidence" guarantee. The rooms had no AC, no refrigerator, no nearby working ice machine, and no good elevator. It was insect-free and close to all sporting venues, but very noisy on the adjacent streets late at night. We paid for 2 nights, but left for another hotel after the first night. I had warned VRBO & Expedia on May 20th that i was very concerned that the reservation that i booked over 6 months ago would fall through. They did nothing, and it fell through the day before check-in. I will likely never use Expedia, VRBO and hotels.com again. They are now trying to get out of honoring their guarantee to cover the cost difference too.
