"Four years ago we stayed here while building our new home on our rural land and became good friends with the Indian couple who owned it rocky and his lovely wife so since then every couple of weeks we stay with them for a break in February because they're close to the Amtrak we stayed the night before starting a international three months holiday to our shock and horror no rocky instead an elder down couple when we he led in she screamed at us because she thought the driver dropping us off was someone extra we were sneaking in she was rude and obnoxious We thought maybe they were just filling in so on may tenth after thirty hours from Adelaide to Melbourne to La then 8 hours at union station and seven hours on Amtrak forty hours traveling with maybe one hours sleep we walked a mile and a half me in a wheelchair my wife carrying luggage mainly uphill to check-in and at 9 pm there was the banshee screaming at us that we were stupid if we lived nearby why not go home( our ranch is 75 miles away) then after over a hundred nights staying there she demanded $200 security for a $90 room we were treated like criminals we had prepaid way back I. February thinking the wonderful rocky would be a welcome sight after a monstrous journey how to kill a great property that was at the top put these two in charge do not stay here folks if I hadn't prepaid we sure as hell wouldn't have"

"Very clean, beautiful rooms and reasonable prices. Nice heated pool and hot tub. Restaurant is nearby. Highly recommend."

"Clean and staff were helpful. Bathroom didn’t have any soap to shower nor hand soap. Good thing I had a bar of soap"

"Loved the relaxed vibe of the hotel. The outdoor terrace and cozy fireplace areas were a plus as well as the complimentary freshly baked croissants and delicious coffee/tea early in the morning. We were in the classic queen room 10 and liked the window opening to the alley for a fresh breeze and a lovely view of climbing ivy and a bit of the street. Would have liked more hooks to hang our items and towels, otherwise it was comfortable room overall. We enjoyed our drinks from the Nightcap bar upstairs by the fire outside with our friends who were also staying there. There are free bikes to use though we never had a chance to try them out."

"Room layout was funky, couldn't get in front door as it kept jamming - needed desk clerk to help. Clerk said it was just purchased by another hotel chain, and had been fumigated for bugs (that didn't sit well with me). Nice that it was close to downtown and freeway."

"I’ve had good experiences at La Quinta’s for years and this was no exception. Staff was super helpful (my 13 yo was a little upset staff wouldn’t let him make his own waffle ;) and the facility was clean. The beds are moderately comfortable. The pool was a disappointment though. The photos make it look like your average size pool when in fact it’s tiny and only 2’8” deep. The pool deck is lovely though."
