"Friendly and hospitable staff delicious breakfast, clean, new modern rooms"

"My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. This place is a keeper for staycations. We stayed since it was close to Mayo Clinic for my early morning biopsy. Steve, the front mgr. was able to accommodate us and surprised us with a beautiful partial ocean view and pool view. Check in is usually 3 p.m. but we arrived sooner due to early morning pre-admissions work. We were able to check in early thanks to Steve. We absolutely loved the pool and especially the hot tub. Easy access to the beach with an outdoor shower to rinse off was also appreciated. The room & King bed was spacious and very comfortable. Aside from the pool's music, it was quiet. We had a balcony on 6th floor. Complimentary breakfast was delicious with a nice selection. The staff are very friendly and greet you. Price of stay was fair and learned i can get better deals if I am staying because of my Mayo Clinic visits. Thank you Steve for alerting me to this information. Very helpful. ."

"I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is 100 years old. So if you want a cookie cutter big Chain experience, this probably isn’t for you. The hotel has wooden floors, and you walk out the back door literally onto the beach. Mary, the staff member on duty when I checked in was incredibly friendly. If there’s a wedding going on during the weekend, it will be noisy because the building is small and old. But it’s unbelievably charming. I stayed in two hotels while I was in Jacksonville. The first was the Hyatt downtown, the seconds this Hotel. I stayed in the Hyatt first. If I had stayed in this one first, I would never have left. I would stay again in a heartbeat. It’s just that vintage-feeling and so very lovely."
