Separated from the state’s biggest metropolises by the Rocky Mountains, this remote region encompasses desert terrain, wine country and scenic expanses of red rock.
"There is so much history in the hotel. It’s fascinating to learn the history of the hotel, to actually stay in this piece of our history. From the extra wide hallways on each floor to the beautiful main staircase that covers 5 floors, the beautifully restored lobby to the peaceful, quiet veranda and garden area that overlooks the big pool of the historic Glenwood Spa, it’s one of my favorite places in the Rocky Mountains. Downtown Glenwood is walk friendly with a great bridge over the Colorado River connecting the Colorado Hotel with the historic train station (still in use) and many excellent restaurants and shops, which are historic in themselves.
