"It's a beautiful property in a great location, but, they charge $45 to park overnight. It's the same cost as the public overnight parking, but I would rather have known that in the room price than find out once you get there. There are no alternative parking options for less, so that's fine but it should be in the room rate I think. Also, a nice breakfast is offered but you have to pay extra for that too. That probably makes sense because not everyone eats breakfast, so if you don't eat it, no charge. We have stayed here for many years and they always make you feel very welcome and are very helpful and accommodating and it's a very comfortable and nice property, literally steps from Vail Village and an easy, beautiful walk to the amphitheater. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very nice, with fridge, micro and coffee, plus wine glasses and an opener and you can get late night dessert/cocktails delivered to your room too which is really nice! Highly recommend and will definitely return soon and look forward to it."

"I loved the architecture and history of the hotel and the lobby and grounds are beautiful and inviting. The historic photos, documents, articles and art are interesting to study. My room was charming and comfortable, and the wide hall reminded me of plantation homes I've visitied in the deep south. I had dinner at the outdoor bar - food and drinks were great, bartender friendly and fun conversation with other guests. Location is fantastic across the street from the the Glenwood Springs pool and it's an easy walk to downtown for restaurants, shops and exploring. Had no problem parking on the street. Have recommended the Hotel Colorado and have friends who have booked for the fall!"

"The property was in the best location. The location is in the middle of town. The staff is friendly and very hospitable. The single room was clean and cozy. A box fan was available and used at nighttime with the windows open. The parking garage was very convenient and easy to get to. I would highly recommend River Mountain Lodge."

"Air Condition was not working in the living room area. Was fine in the bedroom. Great view from the balcony but the chairs were older and wobbly. The bed wasn't that comfortable. We got a great deal on the room. I would not pay a premium price for this lodge. It was pretty average."
