"Lucas and his brother were awesome hosts helping us out with everything from airport pickup to suggesting tours and providing good and affordable food. The location of the hotel is at the less busy side of the avatar mountain park, which makes it idyllic. You can walk to the park entrance in 5 minutes. The rooms are simple but nice and clean. Would definitely stay here again."

"Charming hotel with decor that evokes a traditional China of the 1920’s, but with thoroughly updated facilities and amenities. The bathroom was very elegant and included a Western-style toilet with heated seats. The bed was very comfortable, and there was a lovely view of the river from the balcony. The hotel is just a short walk to the east gate of Zhanjiajie National Park, itis nicely situated in Wulingyuan with great restaurants and small shops nearby. However, the best part of this hotel...

"The hotel was very nice in general. The location is rural, not as where I was expecting when I checked on the map prior to booking. Breakfast was not impressive. Indoor pool not heated. View is beautiful."

"We had a wonderful stay at No. 5 Valley Lodge. The staffs were so helpful and friendly. Frankie was the best. He arranged everything for us from national park tickets, meals, transportation. Anything we ever needed. They were also available through wechat at all times if we had any questions. The hotel is far from downtown (if you want to go to other destinations) but very close to Zhangjiajie NP. Highly recommend this place and we would absolutely book again if we come back. "

"Was here for two nights after four nights up in Wulingyuan, very friendly staff, spoke enough English to provide guidance and suggestions. They helped me with my Tianmen Mt. itinerary, path suggestion, and transportation. Room is very cozy and neat, provides toothbrush, comb, shower cap, body wash and shampoo where many places in China don't supply. I just wish the room can be warmer during the winter."

"Location of the hostel is very good. Walkable to the Zhangjiajie National Park entrance. Overall room wasn’t that clean. The washroom had that typical smell and I saw a few stains on the bed sheets. There are only stairs but highest floor is only 5 or 6 I think. Overall it’s just a cheap acceptably clean place to stay near Zhangjiajie National Park."

"Hard to find place. The taxi dropped me by a gate and said 'in there somewhere'. Had to ask 2 or 3 people to eventually find the hotel - but convenient once you know where it is! A lot of confusion on check-in, but eventually sorted out when the lady called her daughter who spoke good English. Didn't like the 'hole in the floor' toilet, but otherwise clean."

"Cons- Very far from most tourist destinations, expect to spend more money on taxi, and hotel adds surcharge to book cabs. Insect comes into the room because it's in forest area. Air Conditioning in Hotel isn't the best, it is just sufficient, but room remains warm. No restaurants other than hotel's own restaurants. Expect to pay slightly more for hotel food.
