"We always stay at the Chrystalbrook Riley and have stayed in various rooms, all very nice. It is walking distance to everything and parking is easy. 1. They have opened a new restaurant since our last visit, Calypso Club thinking this would provide more options for meals. The restaurants were closed both Paper Crane & Calypso therefore only providing pool food which does not have a good variety, not at all. When the restaurants have private functions they do not advertise this, when not prepared it does become an inconvenience especially if you have children. 2. It is one of the only hotels in Cairns that do not provide an outdoor or an indoor shower for those who have to check out and have a late flight time. They do offer the resort facilities; they are happy for you to use the pool and continue to spend money on drinks and food until you leave for the Airport. The downside and it’s a big one, ourselves and others were all told we could walk up the street to the Flynn to shower, dress and come back to pick up our luggage for the Airport. Not what I would expect for this hotel and the money you pay. "

"Everyone at the hotel went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful. We had an excellent room which we had upgraded when offered to bid for it. The view was spectacular and we enjoyed the activity of the harbour. Access to the hospitality lounge made life easier for breakfast and drinks and canapes later in the day. Car parking was taken care of by valet parking. An easy hotel to stay in. There was nothing we disliked."

"The staff were an absolute pleasure. They were friendly, helpful and prompt with all of our needs. The restaurant was reasonably priced and the food was excellent. Located about a 15 minute walk from the centre of town (Esplanade) did not pose any problems either."
