The hotel is older, but clean and nice. We had a great view from our room. It is also very walkable to the marina and many restaurants/shops. Muddy’s across the street has the best breakfast and 10/10 recommend!

Sheree and Liv were super helpful during our stay answering all our questions on arrival in Cairns. The property is quiet but just across from the beachfront boardwalk. Great breakfast place across the street. Large rooms, pool - all nice!

Excellent room with a beautiful view, great location to walk everywhere. The only issue which was constant that the wifi was not working properly in our room, we constantly were kicked off of it and no fix was offered, even though I identified this issue right away, it’s a shame as otherwise this is a perfect hotel.

We only stayed one night but it was perfect. Clean room, sheets & bathroom. Super spacious balcony to watch the sunrise. Walking distance to town, the beach and the Marina. We arrived late, it was great knowing that they have someone to help at the front desk 24/7. Would definitely stay there again :).

Cairns Plaza is a clean, simple hotel with great views and a very helpful staff. We stayed in a suite, so the living room, kitchen supplies (fridge, utensils/plates and microwave) and separate bedroom made things so easy and comfortable. They have coin-op laundry facilities on-site, which was helpful as this was the second stop on a two-week trip for us. There is a great cafe (Muddy’s Cafe) across the street in the park that offers a 10% discount to hotel guests. It was delicious. The hotel is right along the esplanade, so an easy walk to many restaurants and shops. The hotel isn’t fancy (no fitness center, on-site resturant, etc.) , but it has every thing you need for a really pleasant stay. We’d stay here again for sure!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Plaza Hotel in Cairns! The location was fantastic — Muddies was right across the street and had really good food, and we were within easy walking distance of just about everything. We had a beautiful water view from our balcony, and one of our favorite surprises was being able to watch the flying foxes come in every evening — there were thousands of them! It was such a unique experience and something we looked forward to each night. The building also has a very nice laundry room, which was extremely convenient for travelers. The pier where you catch the boats to the Outer Reef is about a 15-minute walk away, making it easy to get out for reef excursions. Overall, we loved the location, the views, the convenience, and the little extras that made our stay special. We would definitely stay here again when we return to Cairns!

Generally a good hotel. Very clean and friendly staff. It is just basic, but a good basic. If you want a bar or restaurant they are walking distance, not in house. Shower is low pressure and hard to controle. Beds sagged a little, perhaps my back still hurt from 8 weeks in a motorhome…. Nice size room for us parents with kids sharing second bed, plus little table and balcony. Quiet even being fully booked! It served it’s purpose and we would ‘use’ this place again.
