Disney California Adventure® Park

Make new friends with all your favourite Disney characters at Disneyland Park's Californian neighbour.

When Walt Disney brought his colourful characters to California back in the 1920s, it was with a creative spirit and a desire to breathe new life into his work. Opened in 2001 beside the door of the original Disneyland Park® in Anaheim, Disney's California Adventure Park® captures that hope and that creative spirit, with fun-packed rides and attractions, great shows, as well as plenty to see, learn and enjoy.

There are eight different themed areas to explore and enjoy, each of which has its own distinct look and feel. A good place to start off is at Buena Vista Street where you'll find a tribute to the vibrancy of the same Los Angeles where Walt Disney brought his vision. Check out the Condor Flats district, where you can enjoy the Soarin' Over California experience, a simulated hang glider tour over California in vehicles that simulate the sensation of flight, complete with authentic scents to represent the different areas of your journey. Next, visit Grizzly Peak, complete with white-water rapids, for plenty of waterborne fun.

In Hollywood Land, you can meet Disney stars; in A Bug's Land, themed around Disney-Pixar’s 1998 film ‘A Bug’s Life’, you get to see the world from an insect’s perspective. For a complete contrast, experience a ride on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

At Pacific Wharf you can enjoy some respite while savouring local food and drink. Or go underwater with your favourites from The Little Mermaid at Ariel's Undersea Adventure on Paradise Pier. For a rather more fast-paced trip, get on board the California Screamin' roller coaster.

Go riding in a Radiator Springs racer at Cars Land before taking a pit stop at Flo's V8 Cafe. Then at the end of the day, you can lie back and enjoy the sunset at Paradise Bay before enjoying the music and lights of the World of Color show.

Located 56 kilometres to the south of Los Angeles, you can drive to Disney's California Adventure Park® and pay to park, or you can get there by different forms of public transport. If you want to stay over however and take more time to enjoy everything that's on offer, you can rest your head at one of three Disneyland Resort® hotels before visiting Disneyland Park® and the Downtown Disney District.
