"The hotel was lovely and clean but the best thing about it was the staff. Every member we met wasn't just attentive but seemed genuinely concerned with making our stay as pleasant and trouble free as possible. My endearing memory will be the smiles of every one of them we met. You should be proud of them."

"The hotel is undergoing refurbishment but the rooms that are finished, and the public areas are great. The new Fat Badger bar has fantastic decor and atmosphere. The staff were very helpful, exemplified by the manager vacating her parking space when I was struggling to find a space."

"Extremely comfortable bed and spacious room. Far too hot and unable to control the heat. No remote control for tv and had to ask 4 times for it when it finally arrived in time for leaving the tv didn’t work as the WiFi was too weak. Bit of a disaster affecting everything as I was travelling solo and relied on the tv for company "

"I had a lovely complimentary upgrade to a superior room. Just not superior enough. No nespresso machine just sachets of Nescafé and a gritty kettle. No hairdryer until I had to ask for one. No peppermint tea in the entire hotel?! The room was lovey and big, huge comfy bed but lacked important details such as decent coffee making facilities! "

"Modern and clean hotel - bedroom well appointed and spacious. Bed very comfortable. Great location for the town centre and the Crucible! Breakfast felt a bit scrappy - lot of tables were left with dirty plates etc and a few items seemed to have run out and not been replaced. We visited the bar twice for a nightcap and it was a nice relaxed place for a late drink. Only issue we had was the strength of the scented air in the bedrooms - it was so strong. If you are sensitive to scent then this wouldn't be ideal and I'm not sure why it's necessary!"
