If you like or are interested in traditional Japanese style living it is a good place. You set up the futon on tatami mats and are in a good spot near the lake. I'm personally not accustomed to that or having to share bathrooms with other guests. Showers and baths are shared, also baths or only available in the evening for a few hours. There is a sink in your room but no hot water during the fall or winter time. They have you take your shoes off at the door and supply slippers for all guests to use. The quiet time is 2300 to morning so don't expect to be too loud or you will have complaints. You can hear everything outside as well as other guests inside very easily. I did not favor this place due to my opinion but like I said, if you like or are interested in traditional Japanese style living it is very good. The buses here are reserved only. Make sure you book a ticket too and from the hotel. It's very hard to get a same or even next day ticket back to your station. Taxis on gotaxi are unable in the area.
Extremely friendly staff went above and beyond to help me and my partner. The room was clean and sleeping on a traditional futon was a fun experience. My partner and I never slept better! The traditional bath was nice as well. There’s shared toilets separated between male and female. The toilet room was always clean, smell good, and had a heated seat.
You get to enjoy the beautiful views of the lake (we recommend renting a bike and eating at the local restaurants). Also, when you look behind you will have an incredible view of Mount Fuji! It was such a breath taking moment the first time seeing Mount Fuji. We highly recommend staying here and supporting the locals! Great food everywhere we went!
