"Looks grand from the outside and reception, with beautiful grounds. It’s dated. Very dated! We booked the cheapest room so walked a few miles in corridors getting lost in lifts that only go to certain rooms and then a stairwell that was really smelly. We had drinks in the bar, asked for coke was given Pepsi without being asked if I was ok with that and then the £4 small bowl of fries was literally cold. No need to return. "

"This is an amzing gem of a hotel. I would 100% recommend it to anyone travelling North, just off the A1 between Doncaster and Pontefract. Really friendly staff and a brilliant room - excellent value for money too with an amzing restaurant. Breakfast was faultless too."

"Had really good stay, was there for 6 nights, food was lovely, staff really polite and helpful, our room was clean, very comfortable, only thing was the creaking doors early on a morning but that doesn't really affect the quality of stay, overall we had a really nice break away. 100% would recommend staying here if looking for somewhere in pontefract to stay"

Our experience with both Tom on reception and Natasha in the morning for breakfast were fantastic. Both were friendly and helpful and Natasha’s humour when she spoke to us was amazing.
