"A welcoming reception on arrival. Everything explained well. Room was clean and tidy...lots of space, and ample enough room for storage! Breakfast was very relaxing, and the food was excellent ...specially the sausages 🤤😋. A good variety of cooked and continental food. And a nice cup of tea ☕ 😀 Swimming pool was lovely....it was very warm, but a good size for a cooling dip. The changing room is very small, with just 1 shower, but manageable!. Lovely bar staff in the evening, and very informative on places of interest and things to do. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely come back to this hotel....close to cafes and pubs and historic places. Right in the centre, and a very short walk from train station. Thank you for a great stay 😄"

"only stayed for the one night but the staff were very helpful and caring.The room was spotless and very roomy and comfortable .We never used the pool of spa but both looked good.In the morning the breakfast was a buffet and everything was lovely and fresh again the staff were very helpful ,looking after everyone."

"Very nice hotel with lovely well kept lawns and a stunning view of the lake. Staff are very professional and courteous. Everyone I encountered was friendly, hardworking working and clearly wanted the guests to have a really enjoyable and valued stay at the hotel. The cleanliness of the room was exceptional. Very good housekeeping team. The spa was nice to use after a days cycling and hiking. The hotel also provides guided local walking routes that are nice to do from the hotel. The hotel has easy access to Grasmere village so able to walk from the hotel into the village for a coffee and delicious ice-cream. Ambleside was also very accessible via the local bus route so no need to use the car for exploring the immediate local area. We stayed for four nights so able to totally relax and be rejuvenated. Good breakfast and dinner options available. There is ample space to relax and fully enjoy the beautiful countryside that inspired Wordsworth poetry."
