Quality Hotel Oceans Tutukaka
The room we stayed in has had a refurb, but the hallways etc. are looking a bit tired. Also be aware that the room is only serviced once every 3 days, which for the price you pay seems not ideal. Reception staff lovely and the restaurant is great (open for breakfast and lunch only)

Aaron Court Motel
Always clean and sun is always so welcoming. Used the swimming pool which isn't huge but is nice to cool down after our walk up Parihaka. Central to everything.
