"Front desk staff had me walking away believing I was in the wrong. I went up 3 separate times in my stay to ask single questions "Is there a guest laundry facility? NO, "Did my package arrive?" NO, "May I pay extra for late check out?" NO. (Not even a smile when I went away) It was a busy Fiesta weekend, so maybe they were just done with dumb questions but I really felt like I had ticked them off with my interruption, each time. Valet and Night Staff were friendly and extremely helpful, the Night Auditor especially- for answering all above questions with a "No, But.." and offered alternatives. The room was absolutely beautiful (stunning!); the history is almost unfathomable, and I would love to come back someday in a friendlier environment. I would have stayed another night at the Menger and ubered to the airport on monday for my flight, as planned, but front desk's treatment decided me & I went to a major chain hotel up the street for my last night in San Antonio."

"Room was very nice, bathroom could use a little extra on the grout cleaning. Towels were ok. Pool was very overcrowded but it was a Saturday. Pool was smaller than I thought it would be and bathroom was out of service outside of the pool area so had to gather belongings and take son back to our room for that. Called down for valet to bring car around and when I got down there they had no clue of me calling."

"Older than we thought! Needs repairs and windows washed. The beds were great, our view was good, staff wonderful. Could use better chairs in room and small table. All in all we enjoyed our stay. Location close to Riverwalk."

"Everything was walking distance. Nice breakfast and real enjoyed the evening free drinks and appetizers. Walk down to basement then outside to river walk that was great."

"The breakfast menu was outstanding. It offered biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, and more. The bedding was high quality. For the price I paid through Expedia, I would rate it 5 stars+!"

"Breakfast was basic. Room was nice but smelt like strong paint like they just painted the room snd surrounding rooms. Fumes were bad. Staff checking in was the worst to deal with i was suppose to check in by 3pm and they did not let me check in until 4pm because the room i booked and paid for days before was not ready. If the hotel knows there is reservations those should be the rooms they need to clean and maje ready first. Early morning staff he was rud when i ask if there was any orange just he raised his voice abd said its in the fridge, well i wouldnt of asked if the jug was empty so i told him yea its empty. He grunted and went and got a juice. The AC was great. "
