"My stay at Holly House was for 2 nights in their single room with a shared bathroom. Although compact the room was adequate for my needs & reasonably priced. The freshly cooked breakfasts each morning were excellent with plenty of choices on the menu. The house and gardens were delightful and I highly recommend this country house accommodation. "We chose the hotel for its geographical location and proximity to friends and family on our visit to the UK. This property is very old with lots of charming period features and is set in spacious, lovely grounds. If there had not been a drought, they would have looked absolutely wonderful. The age (19th century?) prevents its rating exceeding 4 star. Our junior suite had been pleasantly furnished some years ago. The bathroom had been fitted out very attractively years ago, but the plumbing was in need of modernisation. ( basin taps worn out, shower dated with poor flow and the aqualisa thermostatic control was tricky to set correctly. The staff were all very obliging and helpful (when I needed some business documents scanned and printed. ) The restaurant staff were very pleasant and welcoming. The breakfast selection was excellent. The fine dining restaurant was very good indeed. We were obliged to eat in the brasserie on the evening of our arrival. The food was poor. We enjoyed our stay at Ashdown Park Hotel"

"Really enjoyed my stay, it was relaxing. Used the pool and spa which was just out of this world. The grounds were well maintained and spent loads of time there. My only issue was my room (wendover) it was a good size and had an olde world charm to it but when looking at it closely there were many dead flies by the window and in the evening could hear rats running around up in the ceiling which was freaky and therefore had lack of sleep. I didn’t bring it up with the staff as I knew there wasn’t much they could do about it. But overall I would go back but make sure I wasn’t on the 2nd floor!"
